Responsibilities of the Licensing Services Section include:

• determine if a company's business operations are subject to regulation by the UTC
• assist companies in the completion and filing of:
  • application for operating authority
  • proof of valid public liability and property damage insurance
  • registration of interstate authority
• provide oversight ensuring that companies satisfy requirements of maintaining valid operating authority
• provide oversight ensuring that companies satisfy requirements of maintaining public liability and property damage insurance
• respond to public records requests, interpreting operating authorities and rules and policies

Responsibilities of the Motor Carrier Safety Section include:

• investigate complaints
• provide technical assistance to carriers
• conduct audits
• perform terminal and safety inspections for all transportation companies subject to regulation.
