On March 4, 2008, Avista Corporation d/b/a Avista Utilities (Avista) filed with the commission revisions to its currently effective electric and gas tariffs designed to effect a general rate increase for electric and gas service. Avista requests an electric rate increase of $36.6 million, or 10.3 percent, and a gas rate increase of $6.6 million or 3.3 percent.
On March 6, 2008, the commission suspended and consolidated the tariff revisions filed by Avista Corporation, d/b/a Avista Utilities. The commission also sets a prehearing conference for March 28, 2008, at 10:00 a.m., at the commission's headquarters in Olympia, Washington.
