Hearings & Rulemakings > Hearings >

UTC sets a prehearing conference on PSE's request for general rate increase for electric and gas service.

The commission has rescheduled the original prehearing conference from Jan. 9, 2008, to Jan. 14, 2008, at 1:30 p.m., on tariff filings by Puget Sound Energy, Inc., to increase its rates for electric service and gas service in Washington State. The proposed tariff revisions provide for a general rate increase of $174.5 million, or 9.50 percent, for electric service and $56.8 million, or 5.31 percent, for gas service.

On Jan. 4, 2008, Public Counsel and Commission Staff filed a joint motion to consolidate the general rate case (UE-072300/UG-072301) and the joint application for transfer of ownership proceeding of PSE and Puget Holdings LLC (U-072375), and to continue the prehearing conference in the general rate case until Jan. 14, 2008, so it can be held jointly with the previously noticed prehearing conference in the transfer of ownership proceeding.

The commission suspended operation of the tariffs and consolidated both dockets by Order 01 entered on Dec. 12, 2007.

On February 25, 2008, the commission issued a notice setting three Public Hearings for May 15, 2008, May 20, 2008, and June 4, 2008.
