Public Safety > Pipeline Safety > Northwest Natural commits to pipeline safety improvements The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission has approved a settlement (August 15, 2007) between Northwest Natural Gas and the commission’s pipeline safety program which commits the natural gas provider to a number of safety improvements. As part of the 16-point settlement, Northwest Natural Gas acknowledged that it was not in compliance with some of the state and federal pipeline safety rules when a UTC inspector conducted a routine review of the company’s Clark County operation in May of 2006. The company’s commitments, stated in a settlement agreement as well as inspection documents and letters, are available through the document link below. There will be no financial penalty as a result of this agreed settlement. |
