On December 17, 2007, the commission received a joint application by Puget Holdings LLC and Puget Sound Energy, Inc. for an order authorizing the proposed transfer of ownership and control of Puget Energy and its wholly owned subsidiary, PSE, to Puget Holdings.
On July 21, 2008, Commission Staff filed a letter on behalf of itself, PSE, Puget Holdings, ICNU, NWIGU, The Energy Project, Kroger, and the NWEC informing the Commission that these parties have reached an agreed resolution of all issues before the Commission in this matter. The Cogeneration Coalition indicated it would not oppose the Settlement. The Federal Executive Agencies took no position.
On July 22, 2008, the settling parties filed their Settlement Stipulation. Public Counsel, it appears, will oppose the Commission's adoption of the Settlement Stipulation. The Commission will conduct a hearing to consider the Settlement Stipulation and Public Counsel's opposition to it.
The commission issued a Notice Setting Procedural Schedule and Notice of Public Comment Hearing, and held evidentiary hearings beginning August 25 - 27, 2008.
The commission is providing parties the opportunity to file reply briefs of 30 pages length, and otherwise in accordance with the commission's procedural rules, no later than October 24, 2008. Parties may electronically submit their reply briefs by 3:00 p.m. on October 23, 2008.
On December 30, 2008, the commission issued a Final Order in this matter approving and adopting settlement stipulation and authorizing transaction subject to conditions.
