UTC sets a prehearing conference on Puget Holdings and PSE's joint application for merger.

The commission has set a prehearing conference for Jan. 14, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. on a joint application by Puget Holdings LLC and Puget Sound Energy, Inc. for an order authorizing the proposed transfer of ownership and control of Puget Energy and its wholly owned subsidiary, PSE, to Puget Holdings. The joint applicants request that the commission schedule review of the joint application in a manner that will facilitate an order by July 1, 2008.

On February 25, 2008, the commission issued a notice setting three Public Comment Hearings for May 15, 2008, May 20, 2008 and June 4, 2008.
