The commission on Oct. 10 approved a settlement between the pipeline safety program and Avista Utilities regarding this year’s inspection of the gas utility’s Spokane and Ritzville operations. The commission approves the settlement which contains no financial penalties but which requires Avista to put in place a system for identifying and repairing, when necessary, regulator vents. The settlement also requires Avista to provide its contractors with combustible gas indicators for use when pursing the company’s mains and service lines.
