Hearings & Rulemakings > Rulemakings > Hazardous Liquid pipeline safety rule amendments are adopted. On April 6, the commission adopted amendments to its hazardous liquid pipeline safety rules. The purpose of the rulemaking was to address changes in federal rules and issues that have been found since the commission last adopted rules governing hazardous liquid pipelines. In addition, the commission suggested a new rule requiring that hazardous liquid pipeline companies comply with the damage prevention requirements of RCW 19.122. This rule would allow the commission to assess penalties for the failure to comply with the statutory requirements. This Order amends and adopts the following sections of the Washington Administrative Code:
Amend WAC 480-75-300 Leak detection. Amend WAC 480-75-450 Construction specifications. Amend WAC 480-75-630 Incident reporting. Amend WAC 480-75-650 Annual reports. The rules will take effect in May.
