The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission has received a letter from Avista indicating the company has complied with all terms of a complaint settlement made with the pipeline safety staff last year.
In Nov. 2002, the commission alleged that Avista has failed to comply with and violated state pipeline safety requirements. On March 16, 2003, the commission accepted a settlement agreement between the UTC pipeline safety program and Avista. As part of the settlement, Avista agreed to pay a fine and agreed to make necessary corrections.
A more detailed account of the original alleged violations are detailed in the commission's complaint order.
