OPS issues Olympic Pipeline settlement

Feb. 11, 2005
The federal Office of Pipeline Safety has issued a settlement that closes its civil penalty proceeding with Olympic Pipeline Company. The settlement addresses the agency's investigation into the company's procedures before, during and after the June 10,1999 pipeline incident in Bellingham.

Under the settlement, Olympic Pipeline Company was required to pay $250,000 within 30 days. Olympic's payment is not an admission of any fact, fault or liability with regards to any matters alleged by the federal pipeline safety regulator.
